The Register of Damage for Ukraine has officially launched a new category of claims: A3.3 – Loss of Housing or Residence.
This category is designed for individuals who have lost their housing or residence in the territory of Ukraine, which served as their home, on or after 24 February 2022 as a result of the Russian Federation’s internationally wrongful acts in or against Ukraine.
Claims in this category can be submitted for the fact of losing of one’s housing or place of residence, including the associated loss of ordinary personal belongings, and expenses incurred for securing new housing or residence, including relocation costs.
Claims for personal belongings of exceptional value or rarity may be submitted in category A3.7 – Other Economic Losses (when this category becomes available for claim submission). Claims for damage or destruction of residential immovable property shall be submitted by owners of such properties in category A3.1 – Damage or Destruction of Residential Immovable Property.
To submit a claim, individuals need to provide the information and evidence that they have at their disposal to support the submitted claim.
The launch of Category A3.3 is a further step in recording and recognising the damage, loss and injury suffered by Ukrainians, as a result of the aggression of the Russian Federation.
How to Submit Claims
Claims to the Register can be submitted via the Diia web portal. Diia is a mobile application and portal created by the Government of Ukraine that provides easy, convenient, and secure online access to digital documents and public services for people and businesses in Ukraine.
